Anyone involved in commercializing technology and moving groundbreaking discoveries from the laboratory to the marketplace including: business professionals, faculty members, entrepreneurs, postdocs, researchers, economic development professionals and investors interested in technology based innovation.

The morning business resource fair will include exhibitors that provide technical, business, financial and other business support services to help your business grow. Come and get in-person access to representatives from university, private, state and federal resources.

The lunch time panel will provide an introduction to federal laboratory research centers and the Federal Laboratory Consortium. The panel speakers will highlight federal lab resources and expertise on how to collaborate with federal labs to advance science and push technology into the marketplace. The panel includes representatives from the Federal Laboratory Consortium, NASA, Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center and USDA -Agricultural Research Service.

Small Businesses and startups— Visit the business resource fair for one-on-one connections and stay for the lunchtime panel to meet technology transfer representatives from several federal laboratories to find out how you can benefit from access to experts, facilities, equipment and intellectual property.

Faculty researchers— Explore how your research activities might be supported and expanded by partnering with federal laboratory scientists and technical experts.
Students—Learn about the federal laboratory consortium and resources available to you.

Companies can collaborate with UF on research innovations, hire our undergraduate/graduate students and alumni for internships/co-op assignments/full-time employment, and access the university’s expertise and specialized equipment via services agreements. UF’s Office of Research assists companies of any size – from start-up to multinational – that are seeking to meet any of these needs .

  • works with UF employee inventors to assess their technologies and determine intellectual property (IP) strategies for potentially patentable or copyrightable innovations
  • facilitates the transfer of technologies created at UF into the commercial sector for public benefit
  • assists/incubates start-up and early-stage companies by providing mentorship/critical support networks to accelerate the elapsed time needed for innovations to benefit society
  • manages the portfolio of UF technologies available for licensing by non-UF entities
  • represents UF at a wide variety of local, national, and global events that focus on innovation, entrepreneurship, technology transfer, and economic development
