The Office of Technology Licensing (OTL) at UF works with UF employee inventors with potentially patentable or copyrightable technologies and to facilitate the transfer of technologies created at UF to the commercial sector for public benefit. We are dedicated to assisting employees who feel they have something new and useful, that is potentially patentable or copyrightable. The Office for Technology Licensing oversees all aspects of technology commercialization at UF, from research agreeements, patents and licensing to startups.

The University of Florida is providing companies in the 23 county Corridor with unique access to UF’s almost $500M in research in virtually all areas of health science, agriculture, engineering, physical sciences, and many other disciplines. UF is dedicating up to $2 million annually to matching industry grants for collaborative research and development with UF’s world-class base of faculty and students.

The Mission of the University of Florida Engineering Innovation Institute is to foster a culture of innovation among faculty, students and staff of the College of Engineering. The Florida Engineering Leadership Institute (FELI) was created with the mission to transition engineering professionals into community professionals and leaders within our societies, communities, and workplaces – an important step in realizing our ultimate goal of professional engineers helping to shape society worldwide.
Through its initial 10-month class, FELI enhances the leadership skills of its participants and sets out a clear pathway to put these skills into practice serving our profession and our communities. FELI also provides networking across the current and past classes, serving as an outreach group to business and community leaders.
