Office of Technology Licensing (OTL)
The Office of Technology Licensing (OTL) at UF works with UF employee inventors with potentially patentable or copyrightable technologies and to facilitate the transfer of technologies created at UF to the commercial sector for public benefit. We are dedicated to assisting employees who feel they have something new and useful, that is potentially patentable or copyrightable. The Office for Technology Licensing oversees all aspects of technology commercialization at UF, from research agreeements, patents and licensing to startups.
Florida High Tech Corridor Council (FHTCC) Program
Companies interested in leveraging their R&D budgets while having access to cutting edge researchers at the University of Florida won’t want to miss the opportunity to participate in the Florida High Tech Corridor Council (FHTCC) Matching Funds Research Program. The University of Florida is providing companies in the 23 county Corridor with unique access to UF’s almost $500M in research in virtually all areas of health science, agriculture, engineering, physical sciences, and many other disciplines. UF is dedicating up to $2 million annually to matching industry grants for collaborative research and development with UF’s world-class base of faculty and students.
Florida Innovation Hub at UF
The Florida Innovation Hub at UF provides its resident companies with office space, laboratories, conference rooms and other resources to improve their likelihood of success. The Innovation Hub enables its tenants to devote their limited initial resources to the advancement of their technology and market strategies rather than traditional business operations.
Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation
The Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation (CEI) was created to teach, coach and inspire students to be entrepreneurial in their lives. The Center provides students the tools and experiences necessary to creatively pursue new opportunities and innovations in the start-up, social, and corporate venture arenas.
UF Engineering Innovation Institute
The Mission of the University of Florida Engineering Innovation Institute is to foster a culture of innovation among faculty, students and staff of the College of Engineering. The Institute serves as a nexus of engineering innovation education and experiential programs extending across the spectrum of creative discovery and invention, to the transition of UF engineering technologies and innovative students to the marketplace. The Institute produces leaders with engineering and innovation skills to attack the world’s most daunting problems and change the world.
Florida Engineering Leadership Institute (FELI)
The Florida Engineering Leadership Institute (FELI) was created with the mission to transition engineering professionals into community professionals and leaders within our societies, communities, and workplaces – an important step in realizing our ultimate goal of professional engineers helping to shape society worldwide.
Through its initial 10-month class, FELI enhances the leadership skills of its participants and sets out a clear pathway to put these skills into practice serving our profession and our communities. FELI also provides networking across the current and past classes, serving as an outreach group to business and community leaders. By fostering interaction that puts training into practice, FELI achieves its mission to “Transform Leadership Opportunities into Reality.”
Sid Martin Biotechnology Incubator
The Sid Martin Biotechnology Incubator is a facility at the University of Florida which has as its mission to meld the latest in research innovation with the marketplace. The Incubator works in all areas research relating to the life sciences, biomedical research, medicine, and chemical sciences
Center of Excellence for Regenerative Health Biotechnology (CERHB)
The Center of Excellence for Regenerative Health Biotechnology (CERHB) was established in 2003. Its mission is to stimulate promising research and facilitate commercialization of technologies that will provide treatments and cures for human diseases, as well as create new companies and high wage jobs for Florida.
