Inventor Ron Marks, Ph.D., Clinipace's President and Chief Strategy Officer, served as a faculty member in the UF Division of Biostatistics for almost 30 years and has been a lead clinical trial consultant with a number of large pharmaceutical companies including Unilever, Braun, Smith Kline Beecham and others.
CEO Jeff Williams co-founded and lead software and Internet services businesses NextAudio and MediaSpan, and successfully launched three start-ups in the past eight years. It was this track record, plus his pharmaceutical marketing experience that led the Office of Technology Licensing to facilitate a meeting between Mr. Williams and Dr. Marks to further Clinipace's commercialization success.
To date, angel investors have provided the company with $850,000, with another $250,000 coming from other private investors.
