Fringe Benefit Rates

When budgeting fringe benefits in grant and contract proposals use the rate for the appropriate salary admin plan listed below. UF’s fringe rates are approved annually by U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

FY18 (7/1/17 – 6/30/18) Fringe rates:

All proposals should use the FY18 fringe rates when building budgets.   These rates will be charged effective July 1, 2017, regardless of what rate was used at time of proposal submission.

COM Clinical Faculty 18.3%
Exempt TEAMS/USPS 35.8%
Non-Exempt TEAMS/USPS 45.2%
Clinical Post Doc Associates/Housestaff 20.6%
Regular Post Doc Associates 10.2%
OPS Graduate Assistant 10.2%
OPS Student/Federal Work Study 0.6%
OPS Other/Temporary Faculty 6.6%

The UFIRST-Proposal budgeting system will calculate the fringe automatically, using the most current rates in effect at the time of proposal development.
