     Obsession: The Art of Lennie Kesl is the first major retrospective exhibition of the work of this extraordinary, prolific and influential artist. It runs from Aug. 24 to Oct. 12 at the University Gallery. The exhibition, which is curated by Sally Davenport, a UF master’s student in museum studies, traces Kesl’s career over five decades and includes nearly 400 examples of his work in painting, printmaking, mixed media, collage, sculpture and ceramics. Kesl taught at the University of Florida from 1968-1972 and at Santa Fe Community College in Gainesville from 1972-1991. His work is included in numerous collections, including The Museum of Modern Art in New York and the Samuel P. Harn Museum of Art at UF.
