Proposals to Corporations and Companies
Proposals to companies and corporations can take many forms. Some proposals may be requesting or soliciting unrestricted gifts to a department, college, or the university overall. These types of requests should be coordinated with the UF Foundation (392-7775; www.uff.ufl.edu) prior to making contact with representatives from the target company or corporations.
Proposals involving a specific scope of work and/or deliverables are almost always considered sponsored research at UF. These types of proposals typically include technical specifications and a detailed budget linked to the proposed scope of work. All proposals of this type should be coordinated through the Division of Sponsored Programs.
The Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences has developed short form contracts, called Sponsored Program Agreements (SPA), which may be used as a funding instrument. Examples are available upon request from the IFAS Sponsored Programs Office (G022 McCarty Hall D; 352-392-2356). In addition, a Standard Corporate Research Agreement is available on-line at http://www.research.ufl.edu/faculty-and-staff/forms.html.
