Together we drive UF Research.
MainSpring is an interconnected community of UF professionals who learn, share and grow together to move the research enterprise forward.

Mission
We connect a diverse community of professionals to strategically reduce faculty administrative burden and minimize UF’s risk in sponsored programs administration. Through targeted initiatives measured through our competency model, we foster continual learning, sharing, and growth.
Vision
UF will nurture an ever-expanding community that supports excellence in sponsored programs across the sciences, arts, outreach, and scholarship. We will intentionally reduce administrative burden on faculty and minimize risk to UF by supporting sponsored programs administration networking, education, and skill development.
Competency Model
Our competency model guides and quantifies the impact of these efforts, ensuring we consistently advance toward our Vision. A person considered exceptional in sponsored program administration will be competent in all five pillars of the MainSpring Competency Model and will display the associated behaviors:
- Grantsmanship
- Financial
- Human Resources
- Compliance
- Professional
