Award Negotiation and Acceptance

The negotiation and resolution of many proposal and award issues requires coordination between the Sponsoring Agency, UF’s Division of Sponsored Programs (DSP), the Principal Investigator and staff. The involvement of all the parties is essential to a successful award with mutually acceptable terms and conditions.

If you receive an award directly from a sponsor please deliver to DSP using UFIRST as follows;

DSP’s Unit based teams

DSP’s Unit based teams are responsible for negotiating the following agreements;

  • all federal grants and cooperative agreements, including all modifications
  • all domestic non-profit agreements, including all modifications
  • all state agreements, including all modifications
  • all NIH grant related and non-profit data use agreements
  • all IFAS SPA’s

DSP’s Contracting Office

DSP’s Contracting Office is responsible for negotiating the following agreements:

  •  all federal contracts and modifications therafter, includes data use agreements
  •  all industry (for-profit) agreements and modifications therafter, includes data use agreements
  •  all foreign agreements and modifications therafter, includes data use agreements
  • all confidentiality (CDA/NDA) agreements
